尊敬的老师，亲爱的同学们，
你们好，
紧跟着春天的脚步，沐浴着和煦的阳光，怀揣着新的目标和新的希望，我们又迎来了新的学期，新的一年。
梳理一下假期漂浮散乱的心情，整理一下在狂野中纷乱的思绪，找回在愉悦中迷失的自己，勇敢面对寒窗苦读的二月。新的学期即将是紧张而又充实的。初三的同学要为竞争激烈的中考而战；高中的同学将迎来CIE考试。这两场大考则成为我们各自奋斗的目标。因此，我们更加要抓紧时间，专心学习。
韩愈说过“业精于勤，荒于嬉。”郭沫若说过“爱学出勤奋，勤奋出天才。”董仲舒说过“不知则问，不能则学。”这些历史上的名人都告诉了我们，努力学校不能松懈半分。平时利用午休以及晚饭后的几个小时，多背几个单词，多做几道题，多预习几篇课文，那我们一定会比之前更加优秀更加出色。在这几个月中，我们要有计划有目标的学习，出了上课认真听讲还要认真预习复习。
学习的艰辛是暂时的，未学到的痛苦是终生的。只有比别人更早，更勤奋，更努力，才能尝到成功的滋味。

Dear teachers and fellow students:
As winter fades and spring takes its place, we have welcomed a brand new semester. We need to focus on our studies and leave behind our exciting vacation. This semester is certainly filled with tension. The high school students will have to work hard to succeed in the May and June CIE exams.
Many famous educators and philosophers have reminded us of the importance of hard work.
In our spare time we could build our vocabulary, do practice exam questions or even preview new units in all our subjects. This semester we must be well organized.
We should all utilize our time wisely, because we have limited time and energy. A friend once told me that victory is sweet but only the strongest of us all will rein victorious. So let’s all get up and get going, because the going will only get together.
