On the afternoon of March 15, 2019 NCIC International High School Department held an annual charity sales. On that day, teachers and students are separated into four groups to compete. Every group will donate the money earned by the sale of the diverse goods to four different charities.
The goods include second-hand items, snacks, drinks, books, and handcrafts. Some groups even provide massages and cupboard and shoe cleaning services. There are also groups that provide game consoles, anticipating other students to challenge.
The teachers were also actively involved in the charity. Some teachers signed second-hand books, and some teachers sang to help increase the money for the donations. The enthusiastic participation of the teachers set an example for the students.
The Sapphire House has a very popular stall, everyone gathers around to see a sign that says "Big Petting the Cat Scene", where students brought their own cat for others five RMB per minute.
Funds from previous charities were donated to the same charity, but this year each house will donate to different organisations. The Ruby House chose the "Noah's Ark" project, which are set to protect mountain animals in the areas of southwest China, such as the Yunnan Snob-nosed Monkey, the Himalaya bees and so on. The Topaz House selected the Shenzhen Blue Marine Environment Protection Association Project to protect marine animals. The Emerald House chose a "very academic" program that helps children with congenital insufficiency in the brain. Finally, the Sapphire House chose the Chengdu Love Home Animal Rescue Center project, mainly to help stray cats and dogs.
The Sapphire Group sale received the highest amount with 3067.6 RMB. The funding for the four houses together was 9535.7 RMB.
This charity was considered successful, and hope that it brings love to more people. Where the Flower of Love opens, life can flourish.
